A little bit about me...
Filmon Araya was born in Eritrea, in Eastern Africa’s Horn of Africa. He earned his bachelor’s degree in international business with a minor in Spanish from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2004. For more than 16 years, Filmon has worked in
education, teaching in Denton ISD and currently Irving ISD, where he serves as a special education teacher.
In addition to his career in education, Filmon has been a licensed real estate agent for the past eight years. Filmon’s background as a teacher uniquely positions him to guide his real estate clients with clarity, patience, and confidence. Teaching has trained him to break down complex information, listen carefully, and adapt to each individual’s needs—skills that translate seamlessly into the home buying and selling process.
Why Filmon Is Different
Filmon approaches real estate the same way he approaches teaching: with integrity, organization, and a strong commitment to education. He understands that purchasing a home is one of the most important decisions his clients will make, and he believes it is his responsibility to ensure they feel informed and empowered every step of the way.
His experience in the classroom has strengthened his ability to explain details clearly, remain patient through challenges, and advocate for his clients’ best interests. Filmon prioritizes listening first, educating thoroughly, and providing honest guidance—even when the conversation may be difficult. His goal is to build long-term relationships by helping clients make confident, well-informed decisions. Beyond Real Estate Outside of work, Filmon enjoys staying active by working out, running, and playing soccer on Saturday mornings. He values time with family and friends and loves to travel during his summer breaks. His long-term goal is to visit all seven wonders of the world and every continent. Along the way, he has run with the bulls in Spain, explored the Colosseum in Italy, and experienced the breathtaking beauty of Machu Picchu in Peru.
